GPA Calculator
Calculate your semester GPA on a 10-point scale from subject grades and credits
What is the GPA Calculator?
The GPA Calculator computes your semester Grade Point Average by weighting each subject's grade points by its credit hours. This tool uses a 10-point grading scale (common in Indian universities and several other education systems) — if your institution uses the 4.0 scale common in the US, use the letter-grade table below as a reference, or see our Grade Calculator for a percentage-to-4.0-GPA conversion.
How to Use the GPA Calculator
- Add a row for each subject using "Add Subject".
- Enter the credit hours for that subject (typically 1–6).
- Enter the grade point earned (0–10) for that subject.
- Your GPA updates automatically as a credit-weighted average of all subjects.
GPA Formula
GPA = Σ(Credit Hours × Grade Points) ÷ Σ(Credit Hours)
Example
Three subjects: 4 credits at grade point 9, 3 credits at grade point 8, and 2 credits at grade point 7. GPA = (4×9 + 3×8 + 2×7) ÷ (4+3+2) = (36+24+14) ÷ 9 = 8.22.
GPA Scale (10-point)
| Grade | Grade Points | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| O (Outstanding) | 10 | 90-100 |
| A+ (Excellent) | 9 | 80-89 |
| A (Very Good) | 8 | 70-79 |
| B+ (Good) | 7 | 60-69 |
| B (Above Average) | 6 | 50-59 |
| C (Average) | 5 | 45-49 |
| P (Pass) | 4 | 40-44 |
Frequently Asked Questions
GPA (Grade Point Average) typically refers to a single semester's average. CGPA (Cumulative GPA) is the credit-weighted average across all semesters completed so far. You can use this calculator for either — just enter all the relevant subjects and credits.
This calculator is built for 10-point scale grading. If your school uses the 4.0 scale, use our Grade Calculator instead, which converts a percentage directly into a 4.0-scale GPA point.
